POULTRY KEEPING COURSE

A One Day Course on Keeping Hens in your garden or on your smallholding.

This course will cover choice of breeds, housing, feeding and welfare, followed by a discussion forum.

There will be hands on workshops.

Lunch is provided.

10.00 am	Coffee and Registration
10.15 am	Introduction and origin of fowl
10.30 1am	Housing - Including disinfection and Bio-security
11.15am	Coffee
11.30 am	Choosing your birds - choice of birds and signs of good health
12.00 noon	The Laying hen - How the system works and what she needs
12.30 pm	Feeding and Feed Supplements
1.00 pm	The most common ailments - What to do
1.30 pm	Lunch
2.15 pm	Practical - catching and handling, routine jobs, nail clipping, beak clipping etc.
3.15 pm	Tea - Followed by a tour of the farm park

The cost of the course is £50.00 per person including lunch

The Content of the course can be varied to suit your requirements
