Most of our orders are sent by Parcel Force or Royal Mail.
We will normally dispatch your order to you in 1-2 business days (Express Shipping) or 3-4 business days (Standard Shipping) and you will normally receive it well within 7 business days, but you should allow up to 14 days.
We may not be able to send some goods to certain remote postcodes - such as all of the Scottish highlands and islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man & Channel Islands. If we do, there may be additional postage costs for you to pay. From 1st January 2021 we can no longer ship to EU countries.
This is providing the products are in stock.
You agree that you will inform us within two working days if the goods are lost or damaged in transit so that we can make a prompt claim against the delivery company and correct the problem. Please quote your order number and postcode in all correspondence. A photograph always helps us make a prompt claim against the delivery company.
You agree that proof of delivery supplied by our delivery company is sufficient evidence to establish that goods have been received.
Most poultry houses are delivered in England and Wales by our own inhouse delivery team.
We try our hardest for delivery and on site assembly of poultry houses to be completed within 21 days of placing your order, and we usually achieve this. If you are local to us we aim to deliver within 7 days. However, at times of particularly high demand, or if you live a very long way from us, our lead time for some houses may be 4 to 6 weeks. If the delivery time is critical to you, please call before placing your order.
The cost of the delivery for the poultry houses also includes erection, however there needs to be easy access between our lorry/van and the place you wish the poultry house to be errected, as well as good ground conditions and clearance all round the place you wish the poultry house to be placed. If one person cannot reasonably and safely carry the panels from the lorry to the site, then we may not be able to assemble the house exactly where you wish. Our drivers will always do their best, but their opinion on access will be final. If you have any doubts about access please call us to discuss before placing your order.
Please inspect your poultry house carefully together with our driver, after they have assembled it. Our drivers want you to be happy and will love to show you the features of the poultry house and resolve any questions you have. Once you have verbally accepted the house and our driver has left site, they may not be able to return.
Once you are happy with your house, our driver will take one or more photographs in place of a signature of acceptance.
Collection:
If you prefer to pick up your birds from the Domestic Fowl Trust you can arrange this by choosing “Click & Collect” at checkout. We will call you to arrange a socially distanced collection that suits you Mondays to Fridays 9am to 4pm (There are no weekend collections). You need to be prepared to collect your birds within 8 days.
Delivery:
Alternatively, if you don't live too far away, we can select lovely birds and arrange delivery to you. You will need poultry boxes added to your cart for them to travel in and live within 40 miles of us. If your delivery address is no more than 40 miles from the Domestic Fowl Trust then you will automatically be offered this option at checkout. If your delivery address is more than 40 miles from us, then this delivery option will not be visible to you at checkout and unfortunately you will only be able to choose “Click & Collect”. Delivery is usually within 7 to 14 days, in exceptionally busy periods it may be a little longer. Once we receive your order we will call you to arrange a convenient delivery date. Deliveries are normally weekdays, we are not normally able to deliver hens at weekends.
Mixed carts:
To ensure the welfare of your hens, birds are not usually delivered on the same vehicle as poultry houses. If you have a mix of products in your cart, such as a poultry house and live birds, and live within 40 miles of us, our website will offer you an appropriate delivery option. We prefer to deliver the house first and when you are all set up, the hens at a later date. If your delivery address is more than 40 miles from us, then this delivery option will not be visible to you at checkout and unfortunately you will only be able to choose “Click & Collect”.
We can supply carry boxes from recycled cardboard to transport your new hens in. Each box is suitable for 2 chickens. [Click here]
We are based in Warwickshire, so the nearer you are to Warwickshire and the Midlands, the lower the cost for us to deliver to you.
The calculation is based on £1.25 per mile, with a minumum cost of £35. Very large houses have a suppliment to cover the extended on site build time.
Estimation of the delivery cost will be done at checkout after you have entered your postcode.
Additional charges may apply to deliveries inside M25, the Isle Of Wight and other difficult to reach places or places with tolls or congestion charges. Unfortunately we no longer deliver to Ireland or Northern Ireland. Please call us for deliveries in Scotland as price will vary, lead times may be extended and we can't deliver further north than about Stirling. Delivery for larger houses that require two people to construct them will be more expensive.
