For repairing small Patches in lawns.

This quality grass seed is produced exclusively for the Domestic Fowl Trust by the UK's leading grass seed merchant. We have worked with them for over 14 years and this premium mix is designed for you to repair your lawn. Got a bare or thin patch after the chicken coop has been moved? Have your chickens or ducks scratched up a particular area of your lawn? Then this mix is for you.
Containing just the right combination of grass types to ensure strong and rapid re-growth of grasses.
Ideal for ensuring your lawn remains in tip top condition.

Repairing bare patches can be done in either spring or autumn but autumn is favoured. Bare patches can be repaired by raking the bare area and sowing the seed at the new lawn rate. Tread the seed in to the ground and then water the area with a fine spray. Keep the area moist to assist germination and keep off the patches for approximately 6 weeks to give the seed the chance to grow.

You do not need to wait until the you have bare earth. This mix can be used as a preventive measure by "over seeding" (scattering the new seed into your existing grass).

Sow at a rate of 70 to 80 grams per square meter for bare earth or 50 grams per square meter if over sowing existing grass. (You may need to use some old wire mesh or something else to keep your chickens away while the seed gets established!)
